Pop music encourages girls to kiss other girls and like it.
Country music encourages people to damage their ex's cars, and chase people around with hunting rifles.
Rock music encourages violence, drugs, and degrades woman more than a lot of rap music.
not all pop music does that, and I have to say, I do hate that song.
Country isn't just about wreaking cars and chasing people with rifles(though they prefer shot guns) there's a story behind every song, a meaning. and I'm guessing that you got the rifles part from the song in my sig, Gunpowder and Lead- Mirnanda Lambert.
She wrote that song to encourage all of the woman that have been beaten and raped by men. She wrote it to tell them that they aren't alone and that people are there to help. _________________ "If it looks like we were scared to death, just a couple of kids trying to save each other. Your opinion is wrong, in the sense that you cannot say what is and what isn't music. You can't say it's not music to you, and anything anyone says to the contrary doesn't apply. Because the fact is it is music. Just because you don't think so, doesn't make it any less true.
No opinion is ever wrong, even when it comes to religion, politics, and where you stand for gay marriage and abortion. For me, Rap and Heavy Metal just isn't music, that is MY opinion, I don't go around telling people (albeit that post one post) I don't think Rap or Heavy Metal is music. People can think what they want about those genres, but that was MY opinion. I would appreciate it if you accepted that.
So if I told you you weren't a girl, wouldn't that make my opinion wrong? I mean, I don't think you're a girl, but you're biologically defined as a girl, therefore I'm wrong. It doesn't matter how androgenous (I'm not saying you are, take note) you could be that might make me think you aren't a girl, but you are. So, my opinion is wrong, amirite?
This all was just an example, but do you see what I'm saying?
*sigh* I guess.. lol. I still don't like Rap or Heavy Metal. _________________ Yas and Simmy - Putting Luna on catwalks since 2008!

because it's not music.
it's people yelling about how much money they have and how much they love having sex.
actually that's not really true.
there's some rap that's nothing like that, and that's the rap i can listen to and sometimes enjoy.
but the stuff they play on the radio that everyone listens to is just crap and that's why i hate it.
I could say the same thing about Rock:
It's people screaming the same chorus about various dark and disturbing things and how their parents molested them!
Actually that's not true, there's some rock that's not really like that...
Basing your entire opinion of a genre and the culture it represents off the mainstream bullshit is just plain wrong. What ever happened to open-mindedness?
whoah ok all i did was share my opinion. sorry you don't agree with it but there's no need to go crazy like that.
there is some rap that is good but the rap that i hate is the mainstreem stuff and i explained why already so i won't repeat myself.
Oh, it wasn't hostile what I was saying, I was just proving a point. I actually enjoyed your post.
oh ok sorry lol. it just seemed like that when i read that post.
but yeh i still stick to what i said before. i don't enjoy it because it has no meaning and just isn't music to me.
how can you say it has no meaning? Are you seriously that ignorant to genoralize all of rap into something that has no meaning? That really offends me because there are rappers that have died because of what they said. Things that uplifted the community, brought hope to the people of the places they were living in. The people that killed them were people who wanted to keep making money off the poor by drug dealing and prostitution and as long as these rappers like Tupac kept producing music they were losing money because the people saw that what they were doing was wrong. THROUGH his music and made a change in their lives to better themselves and the world. You disgrace the memory of these men who tried to work with the scraps they were given. Yes they were gangsters and thugs, but they also tried to better themselves make the world a better place. Do you really think they wanted to live that way? Thats why they wrote songs to bring out how they felt and hoped to change the community. Either its you are from England or seriously ignorant to even think of saying such a thing. Also like Nas, Immortal Technique is a very smart and political rapper. You people really need to stop listening to mainstream, thats where you get all these dumb ideas that rap is bad. And making kids sell drugs and kill. Its THEIR decision wheather to do it or not. They dont have to listen to the rappers. Rap is my favorite music, but you dont see me going out and buying drugs and shooting people. I know whats right and whats wrong. When to have a good time and when to be serious. They people that listen to the music and do what the rappers rap about are ghettos youths, mostly African-Americans, who have a dream of making it big, getting rich, they have no other choice. Thats just the way it is. Rappers rap about their lives. Emo kids sing about how they lost their girlfriends and shit. Boo hoo they all live in the suburbs and rich, thats all black males want, but when they rap about it they get scrutenized. Those type of singers really need to stfu cause they have no idea what its like to have a bad life. They have no reason to be emo.
Some songs.
Spoiler:
Come on come on
I see no changes. Wake up in the morning and I ask myself,
"Is life worth living? Should I blast myself?"
I'm tired of bein' poor and even worse I'm black.
My stomach hurts, so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch.
Cops give a damn about a negro? Pull the trigger, kill a nigga, he's a hero.
Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares? One less hungry mouth on the welfare.
First ship 'em dope & let 'em deal the brothers.
Give 'em guns, step back, and watch 'em kill each other.
"It's time to fight back", that's what Huey said.
2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead.
I got love for my brother, but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other. We gotta start makin' changes.
Learn to see me as a brother 'stead of 2 distant strangers.
And that's how it's supposed to be.
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids,
but things change, and that's the way it is.
[Bridge w/ changing ad libs]
(Come on, come on) That's just the way it is. Things'll never be the same.
That's just the way it is. aww yeah...
[Repeat]
I see no changes. All I see is racist faces.
Misplaced hate makes disgrace for races we under.
I wonder what it takes to make this one better place...
let's erase the wasted.
Take the evil out the people, they'll be acting right.
'Cause mo' black than white is smokin' crack tonight.
And only time we chill is when we kill each other.
It takes skill to be real, time to heal each other.
And although it seems heaven sent,
we ain't ready to see a black President, uhh.
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact...
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks.
But some things will never change.
Try to show another way, but they stayin' in the dope game.
Now tell me what's a mother to do?
Bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you.
You gotta operate the easy way.
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way.
Sellin' crack to the kids. "I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is.
[Bridge]
[Talking:]
We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.
And still I see no changes. Can't a brother get a little peace?
There's war on the streets & the war in the Middle East.
Instead of war on poverty,
they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me.
And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do.
But now I'm back with the facts givin' 'em back to you.
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up, crack you up and pimp smack you up.
You gotta learn to hold ya own.
They get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone.
But tell the cops they can't touch this.
I don't trust this, when they try to rush I bust this.
That's the sound of my tune. You say it ain't cool, but mama didn't raise no fool.
And as long as I stay black, I gotta stay strapped & I never get to lay back.
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs.
Some buck that I roughed up way back... comin' back after all these years.
Rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat. That's the way it is. uhh
[Bridge 'til fade]
Some things never change.

When I was young, me and my mama had beef
17 years old kicked out on tha streets
though back in tha time, I never thought I'd see her face
ain't a woman alive that can take my momma's place
suspended from school, scared ta go home
I was a fool with tha big boys breaking all tha rules
shed tears with my baby sister
over tha years we wuz poorer than tha other little kids
and even though we had different daddies
tha same drama when things went wrong we blamed mama
I reminised on tha stress I caused, it wuz hell
hugg'en on my mama from a jail cell
and who'ed think in elementary, heeeey i'd see tha penitentiary
One day
running from tha Police, that's right
Momma catch me--put a whoop'en to my backside
and even as a crack fiend mama,
ya always was a black queen mama
I finally understand for a woman
it ain't easy--trying ta raise a man
ya always wuz commited, a poor single mother on welfare,
tell me how ya did it
there's no way I can pay ya back
but tha plan is ta show ya that I understand.
you are appreciated......
Chorus
Laaaaady, don't cha know we luv ya
Sweeeet Laaaady, place no one above ya
Sweeeet Laaaady, don't cha know we luv ya
Ain't nobody tell us it wuz fair
no luv for my daddy, cause tha coward wuzn't there
he passed away and I didn't cry
cause my anger, wouldn't let me feel for a stranger
they say i'm wrong and i'm heartless
but all along I wuz looking for a father--he wuz gone
I hung around with tha thug's and even though they sold drugs
they showed a young brother luv
I moved out and started really hang'in
I needed money of my own so I started slang'in
I ain't guilty cause, even though I sell rocks
It feels good, putting money in your mailbox
I love paying rent when tha rents due
I hope ya got tha diamond necklace that I sent to you
cause when I wuz low, you was there for me
ya never left me alone, cause ya cared for me
and I can see ya coming home after work late
ya in tha kitchen trying ta fix us a hot plate
just working with tha scraps you wuz given
and mama made miracles every Thanksgiving
but now tha road got rough, your alone
trying ta raise two bad kids on your own
and there's no way I can pay ya back
but my plan is ta show ya that I understand
you are appreciated.....
Chorus
Laaaaady, don't cha know we luv ya
Sweeeet Laaaady, place no one above ya
Sweeeet Laaaady, don't cha know we luv ya
pour out some liquor and I remenise
cause through tha drama, I can always depend on my mama
and when it seems that i'm hopeless
you say tha words that can get me back in focus
when I wuz sick as a little kid
ta keep me happy theres no limit to tha things ya did
and all my childhood memories
are full of all tha sweet things ya did for me
and even though I act craaaazy
I got ta thank tha Lord that ya maaaade me
There are no words that can express how I feel
Ya never kept a secret, always stayed real
and I appreciate how ya raised me
and all tha extra love that ya gave me
I wish I could take tha pain away
If you can make it through tha night, there's a brighter day
everything'll be alright if ya hold on
it's a struggle
everyday gotta roll on
and there's no way I can pay ya back
but my plan is ta show ya that I understand
you are appreciated.......
Chorus
Laaaaady, don't cha know we luv ya
Sweeeet Laaaady, place no one above ya
Sweeeet Laaaady, don't cha know we luv ya, Sweeeet Laaaady
Laaaady...[fades]...Laaaady
Spoiler:
Little somethin for my godson Elijah and a little girl named Corinne
Verse One:
Some say the blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice
I say the darker the flesh then the deeper the roots
I give a holler to my sisters on welfare
Tupac cares, if don't nobody else care
And uhh, I know they like to beat ya down a lot
When you come around the block brothas clown a lot
But please don't cry, dry your eyes, never let up
Forgive but don't forget, girl keep your head up
And when he tells you you ain't nuttin don't believe him
And if he can't learn to love you you should leave him
Cause sista you don't need him
And I ain't tryin to cash up, I just call em how I see em
You know it makes me unhappy (what's that)
When brothas make babies, and leave a young mother to be unhappy
And since we all came from a woman
Got our name from a woman and our game from a woman
I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women, do we hate our women?
I think it's time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women, be real to our women
And if we don't we'll have a race of babies
That will hate the ladies, that make the babies
And since a man can't make one
He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one
So will the real men get up
I know you're fed up ladies, but keep your head up
Chorus
Eeewww child things are gonna get easier
Eeewww child things are gonna get brighter
Eeewww child things are gonna get easier
Eeewww child things are gonna get brighter
Verse Two:
Aiyyo, I remember Marvin Gaye, used to sing ta me
He had me feelin like black was tha thing to be
And suddenly tha ghetto didn't seem so tough
And though we had it rough, we always had enough
I huffed and puffed about my curfew and broke the rules
Ran with the local crew, and had a smoke or two
And I realize momma really paid the price
She nearly gave her life, to raise me right
And all I had ta give her was my pipe dream
Of how I'd rock the mic, and make it to tha bright screen
I'm tryin to make a dollar out of fifteen cents
It's hard to be legit and still pay tha rent
And in the end it seems I'm headin for tha pen
I try and find my friends, but they're blowin in the wind
Last night my buddy lost his whole family
It's gonna take the man in me to conquer this insanity
It seems tha rain'll never let up
I try to keep my head up, and still keep from gettin wet up
You know it's funny when it rains it pours
They got money for wars, but can't feed the poor
Say there ain't no hope for the youth and the truth is
it ain't no hope for tha future
And then they wonder why we crazy
I blame my mother, for turning my brother into a crack baby
We ain't meant to survive, cause it's a setup
And even though you're fed up
Huh, ya got to keep your head up
Chorus
Verse Three:
And uhh
To all the ladies havin babies on they own
I know it's kinda rough and you're feelin all alone
Daddy's long gone and he left you by ya lonesome
Thank the Lord for my kids, even if nobody else want em
Cause I think we can make it, in fact, I'm sure
And if you fall, stand tall and comeback for more
Cause ain't nuttin worse than when your son
wants to kno why his daddy don't love him no mo'
You can't complain you was dealt this
hell of a hand without a man, feelin helpless
Because there's too many things for you to deal with
Dying inside, but outside you're looking fearless
While tears, is rollin down your cheeks
Ya steady hopin things don't all down this week
Cause if it did, you couldn't take it, and don't blame me
I was given this world I didn't make it
And now my son's getten older and older and cold
From havin the world on his shoulders
While the rich kids is drivin Benz
I'm still tryin to hold on to survivin friends
And it's crazy, it seems it'll never let up, but
please... you got to keep your head up
