well I think he got second because it was clever. Yes, you could have done that, but it seems as if no one, besides Ror, actually thought of doing it.

In this challenge, thinking was the all, creativity was nothing.

You mean concept was the all, and quality of execution was nothing.

as I already said in here I think ror's submission was brilliant and I happily doff my hat at him. *doffs* I'm simply glad that mine placed at all, there were so many awesome entries.

Wow.. that's a nasty slap in the face to Tearadria and Arabella. I'm very disappointed in your attitude, I expected more from you. This competition was supposed to be fun, but if people are going to be this rude, then perhaps we should rethink things.

You didn't submit in anything, so I wouldn't talk, hun.

The contest asked for an avatar "Severus Snape would use"
A lot of the submissions were just not avatars the staff felt Snape would use.

Rorschach's, however, came the closest to what Snape would use... something very simple. Same with Tearadria's. And both Tear's and Arabella's showed good work and both were executed well. Although we took skill and concept into account when deciding... we absolutely took into account the actual challenge itself, "Design an avatar that Severus Snape would use."

I agree with everyone who says I shouldn’t have gotten second place.

I should have gotten first.

Er...I didn't mean it in a mean way.
I guess it wasn't worded well. I meant that it was judged based on how well thought out the idea was rather than how flashily made the avatar was. For the record, I really liked all the winning entries, and actually complimented bella on hers on numerous occasions.

I meant that it didn't matter how many effects your avatar had in it, but rather if it all came together as a whole concept. I mean, if you made a really well made avatar that had the ravenclaw mascot in it, you wouldn't win, despite how well made it was.

Which made it more fair, because people who didn't necessarily have access to photoshop could win based on how nicely the whole thing came together, and weren't disadvantaged.

Sorry, I wrote that comment after no sleep and I didn't realize it could be taken as rude. It made sense in my head, but when I'm tired I tend to run around and rub my face against things like a kitty...

I suppose that what I meant was that concept was a more important factor than how many effects were in the avatar. I meant to clarify Al's words, which is probably while I epic failed.

I'm sorry to Tear, Bella and Ror if my comment came off as rude. Its really not how I meant it...

And I do think that all the avvys were well made and had thought put into it, I just meant that how well they were made was taken into account less than the idea in this competition, not that the winners didn't make theres well Edit-because they were made very well!

^Kessy, it's really ok.. I wasn't lying when i said "This was a close contest, guys, siriusly. I have to say, that I'm really proud of everyone who entered. " and all that other stuff.
No one made a crappy avatar, lol, they were all very good... it made it very hard to decide, not kidding. And we want you guys to keep up the momentum... and always give us the very best you can.. just like you have been doing.
I am so excited that this competition is turning out so well... all because of you guys and the hard work you have been putting into this, creativity and all. <3
