Classroom
The class room is adjoining the hospital wing. Study-Skeletons hang from the ceilings, and the walls are lined with shelves holding numerous bottles and jars, except for the west wall which is given over to a mural of Leonardo DaVinci’s Vitruvian Man (though, due to the interference of “worried mothers” such as Beatrix Bloxam , the defining feature of the man’s anatomy was painted over. It has faded over the years and nobody is sure anymore exactly what had been superimposed. The most obvious answer is a fig leaf but many students, and even some adults, insist that it was a pygmy puff. Albus Dumbledore was once said to be overheard explaining just this to Madame Maxime of Beauxbatons). All surfaces are gleaming white, so gleaming in fact that most students have taken to wearing sunglasses while in lessons.

I'm surprised they don't have it already! If I were on the Hogwarts PTA, then I would totally have fought for that to be put into the curriculum. I wouldn't want to young witch or wizard to learn about sex ed in a passageway hidden under a staircase somewhere.
Congrats to the winners! This was by far the most successful contest. We got a lot of entries, and it was the toughest choice by far. Anyone who wants to can post his or her entry for all to read in this thread. _________________

Ever wanted to know how they get phoenix feathers into the cores of wands?
Ever wanted to make your own wand?
Ever wanted to know how you can evaluate a wizard by the wand they use?
The Hogwarts’ staff is pleased to offer a new course starting with the 2010-2011 school year- “The Magic of Wands”. The course will be offered to students in years 3 through7. It will be taught by American wizard and wand maker Ambrose Jones, the first foreigner to teach at Hogwarts. Mr. Jones will be using his book “The Wand Makes the Wizard” as the textbook. The book is 520 pages long and beautifully illustrated with photos and paintings of famous wands and wandmakers, as well as wandmaking materials. The cover features a photo of Harry Potter using the Elder Wand to cast his favorite spell, expelliarmus. Chapters include “The Discovery and Early History of Wands”, “Famous Wands and Wandmakers”, “Core Values”, “Wood Yew?” and “The Wand Makes the Wizard”. In addition to preparing you for a career as a wandmaker the course will help you better understand the use of wands in spellcasting. It will even help you evaluate an opposing wizard based on the type of wand they use, very useful for aurors. Even if you do not plan on taking the course be sure to visit the classroom, which will be located near the library. The room will house Mr. Jones’ large collection of wands, wand-making materials plus photos and artwork related to wands. The room will have large worktables and comfortable chairs so students can practice making wands. _________________
