I've seen all except for Beetlejuice. They all are veeeery good, but Edward Scissorhands is just so incredibly cute and lovely that it just wins hands down for me. Smile

I would have to say Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is my Top Tim Burton film so far. So I voted for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I enjoy Tim Burton somewhat; Edward Sissorhands, Sweeney Todd, Beetlejuice and Frankinweenie(not one remembers Frankinweenie I have notice this on other forum Tim Butron thread, its so adorable) are my favorites. He has great story lines(when he is original) and imagery. But he could stand to get new actors, Depp and Bonham-Carter are wonderful but people can get bored with seeing the same people in the same source films.

And Alice in Wonderland I am not looking forward to but not only because of Tim Burton. First off I am just not a fan of the story of Alice in Wonderland I don't care for Disney's version either.

Secondly, Depp's Mad Hatter looks like more of a perfect fit for the role of Pennyweather, the 'IT' clown of Stephan King's 'IT'. I didn't understand much until I saw him why kids can be terrified by clowns. But thank you Depp for enlightening me. Plus I did not like his performance as Willy Wonka, he was a freakazoid and his Mad Hatter looks to be the same kind of performance. Don't get me wrong he can be a wonderful actor, I enjoy him in 'finding Neverland', 'Sweeney Todd' and 'Edward Sissorhands'. Depp is wonderful and moving when he is not a freakazoid. I didn't completely dislike 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' in fact I enjoy Freddie Highmore as Charlie and Annasophia Robb as Violet; Depp's performance just could have stood to be less freaky.

Although when I saw the trailer for Alice in Wonderland in Avatar and heard the character's talk of SINCE Alice was LAST IN Wonderland and discovered for the first time that this is not in fact the same ole story but rather more of a sequel a microscopic interest was sparked in me. But I would not waste my difficultly acquired money on this film. I will wait to be invited and treated or perhaps check out the DVD.

But also, like almost everything else today, Burton also needs to leave already existing stories/films alone. We have more remakes in this world nowadays than originals, and I miss originals. It's more exciting.

I actually like him as freaky XD. I think that's what makes him unique; being able to play a super weird role but still being able to act it naturally. Besides, he rarely ever plays a normal role (unless you count being a gangster as normal, then maybe Public Enemies qualifies). Most of his characters are usually weird, creepy, outrageous, or how you said it, freaky. And I think that freakiness, such as stuff like Willy Wonka and the Mad Hatter, is one of the things that make him stand out as an actor, his ability to play those roles so delightfully.

I suppose you are right so I suppose the more accurate thing for me to say is that I prefer some of his brand of weird than others.

I completely agree with you. Both Depp and Burton are "freaky", and that's what makes me love them.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is my favourite, I had too much fun watching that movie and Johnny Depp's acting was too perfect, as usual. :D

I believe it's Pennywise. His actual name was Bob Gray.
