^ lol , boring ??? i once walked in to my mum's room and found her crying her eyes out while reading it , lol , she told me the plot of the story and i thought it was really interesting , 'course i didn't wanna read it then , cuz i thought that it would be considered trespassing on enemy lines (it was written by stephenie meyer , author of twilight , lol) , but i guess i came around to reading it , it's really quite hilarious
Really? I thought it was soo boring everyone is always telling me to read it but I just can't. Itdoesnt capture my intrest what so ever to be honest. _________________ Thinking of you where ever you are

One thing - the book has such a nauseating cover. I know you shouldn't "judge a book by the cover" by I can't pick up a book if the cover makes me want to puke. _________________
Everyone I know has this problem with the book. I admit that it starts off kinda slow and it's hard to follow but you have to give it a chance. Believe me, if you can get through four Twilight books, this will be nothing. It really starts to pick up a few chapters in. After that, you won't be able to put it down. The plot is so much more interesting and thought-provoking than the other Stephenie Meyer books. The characters are much more likeable (no whiny Bellas in here!) and realistic, too. I didn't think I'd enjoy it but I actually loved it and would definitely read it again. I can't wait to read the sequels and see the movie next year.
^lol , i actually don't have the original cover , the one i have is like half a face with a weird looking eye and 'The host' under it
That is the original cover, isn't it? I thought there was only one cover.
Alice88... same here. I felt it started off slow, as a lot of people have said to me, but picks up. I thought the story was incredible and just amazing. Even the characterization and content was really good. _________________ thanks to Yasmine Stupidity is not a learning disability.

I didn't know there was another cover. The one I have (the one-with-the-weird-eye) scared me a little. I had to turn it around the other way when I went to bed because I didn't want to wake up and look down at the big, scary eye. Lol!
Yeah, I think people write it off too quickly. Some people might pick it up because it's Stephenie Meyer and don't give it a chance because it takes a little more concentration that the Twilight novels. Also, there's no hot vampires in this book... just a super sexy human! You're right, though - the characterization and content was amazing. I was surprised.
And, yeah, I agree with you, it's such a shame some people won't even try it. It really is such a good book. _________________ thanks to Yasmine Stupidity is not a learning disability.
That book was horrible, in my opinion. I mean, I checked it out and started reading the book, and I swear I couldn't understand any of it! I didn't know what was going on! I was so frustrated with the book that I threw it at the wall (mind not mentioning to my school librarian, please) . I quit on reading it. Maybe it was cause it was a novel for adults that I didn't get any of it, who knows? I, personally wouldn't try to read that book again. It mighta been a great book, but not from my perspective. _________________ Is my sig still long?
I read it and...I thought the ending was horrible. Firstly, it was just like Stephenie Meyer to give Wanda and everyone a cookie-cutter ending. That's what pissed me off, not the inconclusive ending, but the cookie-cutter ending. I might have liked the novel if Wanda would've died like she was supposed to! _________________
I liked it. It's emotional, moving, and thought provoking...
It really depends on your literary taste, but in my opinion, it's worth a try.
(I cried at the end. =))
