Bellatrix's husband was one of the ten Death Eaters who escaped from Azkaban during the mass breakout.

Why don't we hear of him afterwards?

Was he the Death Eater whose head was turned into a baby's in the Department of Mysteries?

No. Her husband was Rodolphus.
We heard about him a few times!

The Lestranges attacked the Longbottoms. That's mentioned a lot. Then he was at the trial with her and Barty Crouch Jr, as Harry saw in the Pensieve.
They scape from Azkaban and at the end of OotP he's mentioned as one of the Death Eaters that are in the Department of Misteries.
He was probably sent to Azkaban again, because Bellatrix was the only one who scaped with the Dark Lord.
And in the beginning of the Deathly Hallows, he and Bellatrix attack Ron and Tonks (their halfblood niece). Tonks says Ron hurted Rodolphus.

Then he's not mentioned again, so we don't know what happened.
He might have been sent to Azkaban after the Battle of Hogwarts, or he might also have died there (because when Molly fights Bellatrix he's not there).

Rereads...

Ah yes, I see where Tonks said that now...

How easy it is to miss things...

I know this sounds absurd, but when I first watched HBP, I though Draco and Bellatrix were in love. I watched HBP in theatres, and that was before I read any of the books, and even knew anything about the plot. (Also, I just wanted to point out that 3-letter posts are unacceptable, Just saying. *cough* battlestorm101*cough*)

Isn't it like incest or something?

Yes it would be incest if anything sexual was to happen between them.

I just think that Bellatrix is an extremely affectionate person with the people she loves or admires - like Voldemort, Draco or Narcissa. Plus, she was in Azkaban for so long, she might want to make up for lost time with Draco by being extra affectionate.

Of course, it's the exact opposite with someone she despises, like a mudblood Razz

I love Draco. He's my only nephy-poo Very Happy Such a good boy, too. Almost like the son I never had.

Razz

it's incest if it were to get sexual. this convo reminds me of when I looked up Bellatrix Lestrange on a fanfiction website and found a story where Draco married Bella's long-lost daughter. I had a blast reading thru all the reviews that mentioned stuff about Bellatrix being his aunt.

I'm sure it was the thought of the Dark Lord one day rescuing you from that Hell Hole and rewarding you for your lifetime of service, and then being able to mentor your nephew into the service he was born to do, that got you through...

Coming back to Bellatrix husband.... Bellatrix marriage to Lestrange may have been an arrange one. In the books I get the impression she has "a thing" for Voldemort (Too much admiration). Being both of them Death eaters, even The dark Lord may have suggested the marriage.....

I do not think Voldemort cares eaither. I was thinking more like: "Bellatrix is bothering me too much. Lestrange marry her and keep her under control..."

After Lord Voldemort's final defeat, Rodolphus was presumably killed or imprisoned in Azkaban once more.

Yes... remember we are in Theories and Speculation Section in which we can formulate theories either it is wrong or right.

He asked a very direct question: does it say that in the book? And there's just one answer: no, it doesn't

Anything else you can think of, it's on your own.

Well Bellatrix is often in admiration of Voldermort is because she sees him as a savior (hence him being a lord ) and to me I think would do anything to just be as powerful as him. She shows such affection towards him as a obessed fan would be towards a rockstar. Besides not wanting to be killed by him its his fame and power that draws her to him in a fanatic type of way.

She is also caring about Narcissa particularly because they're sisters and Draco as her nephew but even then again bashes at them when they're not following what their precious Lord asks them to do.

Yes he was. Not much is said about Bellatrix's husband, or the pair's relationship. Obviously he probably noticed how his wife was completely in love with Voldemort. Wouldn't that make him just a bit jealous?

^Yeah, it was a marriage of convenience. I'm sure they made great partners and they possibly cared for each other, but it wasn't a marriage of love, thats for sure.
